A Message from Jonathan & Melissa Helser

Friends, we are recording our first-ever Cageless Birds Live Album! Click below to hear the heart and vision for this upcoming live worship album from Jonathan & Melissa Helser. After years of releasing both studio albums and spontaneous worship moments on YouTube, we feel joy to record a live album that carries the heart of worship that has marked the Cageless Birds and the 18 Inch Journey for years.

We cannot do this album alone. We need your help and want to invite you to join our Live Album Support Team. We are greatly in need of prayer and financial covering as we embark on this project. If you have been impacted by our worship music on YouTube, we invite you to consider donating to our ministry for Giving Tuesday or your end-of-year giving. Scroll below to see our specific needs and how you can financially partner with us.

Ways to support the Cageless Birds:

1. Help fund our Live Worship Album

We are overjoyed to be recording our first-ever Cageless Birds live worship album! Recording and releasing an album is no small endeavor and carries many real world costs and we desire to grow a support team to help us get this new musical endeavor to the finish line. Click below to learn more about this album, join our Live Album Support Team, and receive sneak peaks, focused prayer requests, and more as we walk through the process of creating this album.

2. Give to our 18 Inch Journey Campus Campaign

Our mission is to respond to the commission of Jesus and make disciples of all nations. One of the ways we do this is through our 18 Inch Journey discipleship programs that we host at “A Place for the Heart,” our 52-acre campus in North Carolina. Our vision for the 18 Inch Journey Campus Campaign is to develop our campus to host more guests on our property, provide resources for their deep spiritual formation, and equip our staff to serve a generation in a greater capacity. Currently, we are raising money for 3 New Cabins, a Grocery Transportation Vehicle, and Art Education Supplies. Click below to learn more, see our completed projects, and the long-term vision for our campus.

3. Support a Staff

All of our missional staff rely on donations and support. Having a team of people who believe in what we do empowers us to continue giving our lives to loving people and teaching tools and practices to connect with God. Click below to meet our team and to financially partner with our staff.

4. Give to our General Fund

Since 1986, our 52-acre campus, A Place for the Heart, was dedicated to be a place where people could come away from the busyness of life and encounter the heart of God. Every financial gift that you sow into our General Fund supports our everyday expenses—utilities, building and grounds maintenance, meals for our staff, tools and equipment for our creative departments, and more—and helps us to continue stewarding our beautiful campus.

5. Shop our Cageless Birds Online Store

We created our Cageless Birds Online Shop to share the overflow of our creative pursuits and financially support our ministry and missional staff. This includes our Cultivate devotional books, handcrafted leather goods, ceramics, music, Maker Coffee, and more.

Support the 18 Inch Journey Campus Campaign

The mission of the Cageless Birds is to respond to the commission of Jesus and make disciples of all nations. One of the ways we do this is through our 18 Inch Journey discipleship programs focused on spiritual formation. We do all of this at “A Place for the Heart,” our 52-acre campus in North Carolina.

Over the past 10 years, our staff, schools, camps, and retreats have nearly doubled in size. Our vision for the 18 Inch Journey Campus Campaign is to develop our campus to host more people on our property, provide resources for their deep spiritual formation, and equip our staff to serve a generation in a greater capacity. Below you will find what we are dreaming into for our campus and ministry and the goals that have been completed with your help and support. This page will always be updated with our most immediate needs. We invite you to partner with us as we expand our campus and continue to grow the Kingdom of God.
