Frequently Asked Questions
Request to visit
We are not currently scheduling visits to A Place for the Heart. Due to the projects, creative ventures, and discipleship schools we host throughout the year, our staff does not have the availability to facilitate visits. The best way to connect with our community is to attend one of our retreats, schools, or worship gatherings. You can receive email updates about our upcoming events by joining our mailing list at the bottom of this page: contact.
Can I work for you?
Thank you for your interest in supporting our mission. We are not currently hiring and do not have positions available. While we do offer annual internships, they are only available to alumni who have completed both years of our discipleship school, the 18 Inch Journey. If you are interested in partnering with our ministry, the best way to do so is by becoming a supporter, attending a worship night or applying for one of our schools or retreats. You can find information about the various schools and retreats we host here: 18 Inch Journey.
Can I volunteer?
Thank you for your interest in supporting our ministry through volunteering! While we do have places in our ministry that need additional help and support throughout the year, most of these opportunities are reserved for our alumni who have completed both years of our school and desire to come back and serve. If there is a specific area where you would like to offer professional assistance, please submit a contact form on our website. Our team will review your request, and if this is an area where we are looking for volunteer assistance, we will be in touch!
Can you offer online advice or counsel?
We are honored that you would consider us when reaching out for advice and help. Our team is not able to offer online counseling or mentorship, however you are absolutely welcome to take a look at the resources, retreats and schools that we have available! You can find this information on our website. We also have a book series called, Cultivate: a devotional that is meant to help people practice hearing the Holy Spirit in their everyday life. If you're interested in learning more about Cultivate, you can find it on our store at shop.cagelessbirds.com. We also have online courses at engagingcultivate.com.
If you are seeking resources for counseling or help, we encourage you to seek out a local pastor or counselor in your area that is equipped to offer help in the capacity that you need!
Also, you can find some of our recommended resources here: https://www.18inchjourney.com/resources.
I'm interested in starting a ministry similar to yours. Can one of your staff mentor me about starting a ministry?
Due to the projects, creative ventures, and discipleship schools our staff takes on and hosts throughout the year, we're unable to give counsel or offer advise about how to embark on your own journey. Much of what we have done and built over the years has been a lot of dreaming and risk-taking together as a community and learning and growing from both our failures as well as our successes. Our best encouragement to you is to lean into the Father's leadership in the dream He has for you, and to seek out voices in your own community who can speak wisdom into your vision. This has been and continues to be one of our deepest core value!
A Place for the Heart started with small beginnings and has been slowly growing over the last 30 years. While we can't very quickly impart all that we've learned over three decades, there are some wonderful resources we recommend that have helped to shape our community and our values. You can find them on our website here: resources.
Where can I find dates for a specific event?
You can follow our schedule on our website here : Schedule. We update our schedule regularly with our upcoming worship nights and events. To learn the dates of our schools and retreats, please look through the dates posted on our website. We release those dates one year at a time, and typically announce them at the beginning of each year. When we've set those dates they will be available on our websites and will be announced on our social media platforms.
Can I contribute to Cultivate or other creative endeavors?
At this time, we are not receiving any outside artist submissions for Cultivate.
