Mary lives in Sophia, NC and has a heart for hospitality, storytelling, and the ancient spiritual disciplines.
She plans, coordinates, an executes events for the Cageless Birds, such as worship nights, schools, retreats, and more. She loves how hosting and generous hospitality have the power to demonstrate the care and comfort of God to others. She teaches classes on Sabbath, silence, solitude, prayer, and art during the 18 Inch Journey schools.
Mary manages the Cageless Birds’ online presence: websites, social media, emails, and more. As a marketing project manager, she is passionate about working in team to create resources—videos, online workshops, podcasts, and more—to empower people with rhythms and tools to connect with God.
Mary is also a writer and editor for Cultivate and many of the digital and print materials that come from A Place for the Heart. Mary studied Communications & Arts Administration at the University of Virginia.
